Seven Days While My Wife Was Away--Day Three
The paint debacle
I woke up early, drive to O’Reilly Auto Parts, and got the dashboard paint. I kept telling myself to be careful, so I didn’t screw up my car anymore. I put towels over the seats and taped an old newspaper to the windshield. I opened the garage for fresh air, so I wouldn’t inhale the paint and aggravate my asthma. It was 7 a.m. and already 90 degrees. I wanted to finish before it got unbearable.
I put on my goggles, congratulated myself for being smart. If I didn’t protect my eyes, I might go blind, and my wife would be pissed. She takes care of me as is. And if I’m blind, it will be Driving Ms. Blind Daisy.
Everything was ready, except I couldn’t get the lid off the spray can.
