Everybody has had a broken heart at one time or another. Heartbreak takes on many forms and happens all around us. People breaking up, getting divorced, and losing a loved one to death. A father abusing or abandoning a family. A lover moves away or an imaginary rejection. Some of the heartbreak is terrible, but some are in our best interests. Today, the crow speaks in poetry, humor, and fiction about a broken heart—of which he knows a lot about.

Reader Comment of the Week:
Thank you, Steve Fendt, fellow author at Medium.com and Substack, for writing this comment about my story, A Pleasant Distraction. “Beautiful, heart-rending story, Mark. One of the things I love about live jazz is that I’m never quite sure where it’s going to go next, but I know it will be interesting. Rather like reading back through your Medium feed.”
